Many times I use the words "Welcome Back" as the post title on this blog. Every time type it, I think of that old sitcom from back in the 70s, called Welcome Back Kotter. And I hear that little tune playing in my head. Those of you from other countries and those who are younger probably are not familiar with that show. This week another one of their former characters passed away. He was just in his 60s. He was a high school student in the sitcom. Another reminder of the brevity of life. Another reminder that fame and fortune are so temporary and as the wisest man who ever lived, Solomon said: "Fear God and keep His commandments for this is the whole duty of man." It is easy in our fast paced secular world to forget how true that is. So, this is just another little reminder.

I will miss posting this week - we will be traveling. But I will be back next week - I cherish the opportunity to share on Spiritual Sundays. Thank you again for hosting - have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteHi Charlotte,
ReplyDeleteI remember that show! I watched it all the time...and now I am hearing the song! It's true that time is short. Good reminder to do the most (and the best) with what we have...for God's glory.
Thanks!
Hi, this is my first time linking to your blog and I hope I have done it correctly. I am looking forward to returning later to check out some of the other blogs. Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Kotter was one of our favorite shows. Guess that dates me too. I am posting one for Robert as he remembers the old South and horse traders. He writes to Beware of slippery men and also beware of temptation from Satan.
ReplyDeleteThats one of the reasons I love to share the joys that await us in heaven, and of the importance of being heavenly as well as earthly minded. Thanks for another good reminder.
ReplyDeleteyour words about life being short and that we just don't know how long we have hit home. There's been some terrible accidents lately close to home...makes me think even more to shine His hope b/c all we know for sure is that we have this moment. Wishing you and Cliff a wonderful Sunday.
ReplyDeletetravelling with HOPE in our hearts thru whatever this week holds [and this life!] welcome to FHC..
ReplyDeleteHi Charlotte,
ReplyDeleteI remember Welcome Back Kotter! Used to love that show. Which character just passed away?
And yes life is short. I love that scripture from Ecclesiastes! Have a blessed week.
Blessings,
Judy
