I was shocked this morning to see an article on the internet with this title. And here was the first line of the article:
Christianity is plummeting in America, while the number of non-believers is skyrocketing.
Do you suppose those in our country who have been trying to take God out of our culture for decades are having this much of an influence? Does it start in our schools where students can't even use the word God (except perhaps as a curse word) but can sing songs of praise to a president?
I hope that our blog and those who come here and share their faith will help us shine the light of Jesus in a dark world. A big "Thank You" again to everyone who participates. If you need more information about sharing on this blog, you can click HERE.

Very scary. We must continue to pray with all we have in us.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, andrea
Charlotte,
ReplyDeleteThis post lets me know that I have got to pray harder than ever, and to let those that I have the opportunity to come in contact with know that there is a place of safety that this government does not hold!
Sometimes I wonder what our ancestors would think or do if they were living here today, they seemed to have had more sense to make right and Godly decisions.
Bless you for sharing,
Hugs,
Sue
Thank you for sharing this. It is scary. We must all remember to pray more diligently about all of this. Blessings to you, Debbie
ReplyDeleteOur countries are in a scary state! The Church needs to wake up and pray as never before.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
I don't believe it, I don't want to believe it. God is out there and people need to believe. It is so simple really.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you Anne
This news does scare me. I work in a public school, though, and I thought I would share some good news with you. This past week, our school had students praying for See You at the Pole, and their posters announcing the event as well as their presence at the pole gave many chances for witnessing. I believe things can turn around if we, individually and as a nation, pray and turn our hearts back to God.
ReplyDeleteMy heart is grieved as I read and see all the unbelief in our country, but I know one thing, God is in control, and He will see us through as we trust in Him. When we seek Him in prayer, He will hear and answer! God Bless you, this Spirtual Sunday!
ReplyDeleteGreat Post!! Thank you for speaking out. I've been very honest this week.
ReplyDeleteLove In Christ, DeniseMarie-Bloomin'
Charlotte...I think articles like this MUST serve to wake us up as the Body of Christ! In my opinion this "lay low and wait to see how this administration" handles things is absurd. We need to pray as never before, and not only pray, but also stand up and be counted! I realize that not everyone agrees on political issues, but all Christians need to be aware of what is happening around us and take responsibility for our children and our country. God is not willing that any should perish and I don't think we should be willing either.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Elaine
The government is evil. Babies being slaughtered in the womb, little children being brainwashed in school with the songs and laws being written to forbid preaching against the sin of Homosexuality, etc. However, God is on His throne. I join these others in praying with you.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Mary
We do need to be praying for our country. I pray God will have mercy on us and will intervene. I believe we do need to do what we can to keep God in our country.
ReplyDeleteHello Charlotte. We have to pray for revival. The foundations laid in America will not be shaken because The Lord has promised that He will be with us even until the end.
ReplyDeleteOut here. We just had our electric back(after 12 hours). But still no internet connection yet.
So many were devastated by the typhoon. The flooding was worst than before.
I'll still sharing an old post.
Thank you.
Best Regards.
Blessings,
Regina
Hi Charlotte,
ReplyDeleteVery nicely said! I worry about how much our society is slipping slowly away from God. We need to pray hard for our beloved country every day.
I love participating in Spiritual Sundays - I won't be able to today because I need to work this morning, but just wanted to stop by and tell you again how much I appreciate this great way to celebrate with other fellow Christians every Sunday.
It has been a real blessing in my life and I am sure to many others as well.
Blessings,
Kymber
This is frightening....and I do believe that public schools have a very evil influence over very impressionable children.
ReplyDeleteI feel so blessed that I can teach my children at home and we can study God's precious Word as part of our schooling.
Christians need to wake up and realize where our country is quickly headed so that we can make the changes needed to save it before it's too late.
Have a blessed Sunday~
Chasity
I think that not only is the ungodly influence a contributing factor outside the church.. but inside it.. there is so much corruption and misuse of the church for ppl's personal gains that it turns alot of ppl off christianity altogether.. I have recently had some bad experiences in churches that would've done the same to me, had my faith in God not been so strong.
ReplyDelete'We cannot ask God to do a new thing if we keep doing evrything the same old way'...so we must not be afraid to share our faith, to speak of our love of God simply because we risk offending someone. We must stop giving in to the minority and proclaim what we believe!
ReplyDeleteIt is very sad. We must be vigilant about praying for our nation and contacting our representatives and senators and president with our concerns. Freedom is a wonderful blessing that we cannot take lightly!Praise God - he is in control.
ReplyDeletePray - and take action!
careful you get an ostrich to pull his head out of the sand he might just get dangerous...hahah
ReplyDeleteI would just love it if more Christians got dangerous.
This is a great post, Charlotte...I've also read all the comments, and agree with all of them. I'm wondering, though, is Christians are in decline, or just not being vocal. I know some of them think we should just have faith...but I do believe we must speak out, and I'm glad that so many are doing so on their blogs. One thing that does scare me...those bloggers who profess to be Christiand, but spout bitter and nasty remarks about conservatives. That, I do not understand...having a different opinion is one thing, but when I read that we are right-wing boobs, that's uncalled for, and I'm only glad that conservatives, in general, do not behave that way. Back to your post...prayer, witnessing...all the things the other commenters said, that's what we must do. We're on vacation in Az., so I'm trying to catch up on all the SS posts...so glad I started with this one.
ReplyDeleteBless you for sharing this.
Mary
I certainly hope this isn't true. I haven't been a Christian long compared to many so I believe my conversion is not an aberration. There are many out there still to come to Christ.
ReplyDeletewhile this is very scary it was not that many months ago when I saw an article in a newspaper that explained how christianity may finally have been proved.
ReplyDeleteA good reminder to us all. "Walk the walk" my pastor would say! pokey
ReplyDeleteThis is disheartening , but there are still some Christians , we are still salt &light. We must be steadfast & continue on praying for this country.
ReplyDelete" Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ......Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. "Romans 8: 35-39
~Myrna
I think the enemy would like us to think we are fighting a losing battle but our heavenly Father is in ultimate control and he is almighty. He has never lost a battle to the enemy and He never will. There are more believers in Jehovah God than some would have us believe.
ReplyDeleteI continue to pray for
those who do not know Him for they are missing out on the greatest gift, and that is knowing the ultimate love of Christ Jesus and His promise of eternal life.
"Please Heavenly Father call them in soon."
